miNiATURE Garden Show
Strand Gallery, 5th to 9th March 2014
We're proud to be sponsoring the miNiATURE Garden Show, at the Strand Gallery, 32 John Adam Street, London, WC2N 6BP—just one minute away from Trafalgar Square. The gallery is well know and hosts shows from artists and photographers. The show has been devised and is curated by our London College of Garden Design colleague Andrew Fisher Tomlin along with Tom Harfleet and Kajsa Björne.
miNiATURE is set to be one of the most exciting and innovative events in the world of garden design for 2014, which ties in with the most exciting and innovative garden design software—Vectorworks Landmark!
The concept behind miNiATURE is to create a platform where leading garden designers and landscape architects truly have the ability to create unique and ambitious gardens, even if they are in miniature. miNiATURE’s leading UK and International designers have a chance to design completely new ideas in gardens and landscapes, introduce the garden world to 3D printing and inspire the profession and the public with the first ever exhibition of its kind. Budget constraints on traditional show gardens can lead to self-limiting designs in order to win medals. miNiATURE aims to change this by giving designers an outlet to explore creative designs at low cost through CAD software, 3D modelling and 3D printing. Vectorworks Landmark supports 3D printing through its ability to export 3D models into a variety of 3D file formats, such as Stereo Lithography and Rhino.
Ten international garden designers have been chosen to create unique designs for development into miniature 3D models. Each model will be accompanied by an explanation of the ideas behind the design, the techniques, process and the realisation of the garden. There will also be live 3D printing happening in the special HOBs3D room so that visitors can get a taste of how 3D printing works.
