Let's summarise just a few of the key developments in this exciting new release which apply to all users:
Make 3D as Easy as 2D
The thought of working in a 3D environment in Vectorworks has sometimes been perceived as a leap too far! Now, in 2011, the boundary between 2D and 3D is gone. You can work in the same way in either a 2D or a 3D view, without worrying. All the familiar 2D tools work in a 3D environment, such as graphic fills, text, dimensions. 2D shapes can be drawn in any plane and then pulled into 3D shapes using the fantastic new Push-Pull tool
Exceptional Text Features
Vectorworks 2011 includes the ability to create and save Text Styles which you can apply to any text in a design. This ensures consistency and efficiency across all your drawings as well as improving the overall presentation style of your designs. And of course your text will behave in exactly the same way in a 3D view!
New Scalable Symbols
At last, you can take a pre-defined symbol from the Resource Browser and drop it into the drawing without having to worry about it's original size. Take a generic sofa or table for example and scale it to fit the bespoke item you're planning for your design scheme.
New Tile Fills
With the new Tile resources, you can create any repeating pattern you want, whether it's a paving layout, or a wallpaper pattern, you can just draw it the right size and drag the repeat into position. Tiles can include any 2D graphics you want, including gradients and image fills, making fills incredibly flexible. No more scary hatch editor!
