Vectorworks 2011 for Lighting Designers, Set Designers and Event Planners
Vectorworks Spotlight users will of course benefit from all the new fundamental improvements within Vectorworks 2011 including the 2D/3D integration, text styles, new drafting aids and much more. For those creating stage designs or exhibitiion designs, these new capabilities will only serve to speed up your design process. The ability to scale symbols will also make the whole process easier. Use library items and scale them in situ, or create your own generic library of components and scale them on the drawing as appropriate to the design.
Spotlight specific improvements include improvements to the Focus Point tool. Now, you can use your own creative flair to show your focus points with different graphics in both 2D and 3D. You can also choose not to have a 3D representation if you find this intrusive in your 3D visuals.
The Seating Layout tool now includes further library symbols to make it far more suitable for use in theatre work. The seating layout can also show seating numbers and different label formats for seating areas.
For those using Vectorworks Spotlight for 3D visualisation, you will no longer need to adjust the 3D view of each lantern. Lighting devices will now automatically track their focus points making the visuals far more realistic.
Of course, the new Renderworks 2011 CINEMA 4D rendering engine just enhances the experience, providing faster, better quality rendered images.
